Research and Teaching Interests

Professor Hogan researches topics such as the information contained within book-tax differences in regards to aggressive managerial behavior and firm mandatory disclosures, and the market reaction to financial restatements and the consequences of restatements on firm insiders and outsiders. His teaching interests are in the areas of Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Individual and Corporate Taxation.

Industry and Academic Experience

Prior to joining Northeastern University’s D'Amore-McKim School of Business, Professor Hogan worked for Deloitte & Touche LLP as a Tax Manager. He was also a visiting professor at Cleveland State University and has taught accounting courses at Case Western Reserve University.

Professional Services

Professor Hogan is an active CPA in the State of Ohio. He is also a member of several professional organizations, including AICPA, Ohio Society of CPAs, American Accounting Association, Beta Alpha Psi Fraternity, Beta Gamma Sigma Fraternity, and American Taxation Association. Professor Hogan has also served as an ad-hoc reviewer and moderator for the American Accounting Association National Meeting, 2005-2010.
