Mr. Galante is a graduate of Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. Upon his course work he joined his co-op employer, ExxonMobil, and worked for the company for 34 years, retiring in 2006.
While at ExxonMobil he held a variety of positions in domestic and international business ultimately rising to the position of Senior Vice President and member of the company's four person Management Committee. In this role his principal responsibilities included the worldwide Downstream business - Refining & Supply, Fuels Marketing, Lubricants & Specialties and Research & Engineering. These duties included oversight of 45 refineries worldwide, marketing and sales activities in nearly 200 countries and territories and research budget of several hundred million dollars. Mr. Galante also had responsibility for several corporate staff functions including Public Affairs and Environmental, Health and Safety activities.
A native of Inwood, New York, he serves on the Board of Northeastern University and as an Executive-in-Residence in the College of Business Administration. He is a Director of Praxair, Inc. and Foster Wheeler Ltd. He also serves on the Board of Director of Junior Achievement Worldwide. He has previously served on the Boards of the Council of the Americas, Council for the United States and Italy and as Vice Chairman of the United States Council for International Business. He is a member of the 25 Year Club of the Petroleum Industry.
