Research and Teaching Interests

David Wesley is a founding member of the Institute for Global Innovation Management at Northeastern University, an internationally recognized research center for developing effective approaches and solutions to global innovation management and for the development and dissemination of teaching materials concerning the global challenges facing technology intensive companies. He develops cases in diverse industries on a wide range of strategic and managerial issues, including diversity in organizations, business ethics, international management, corporate renewal, and new product development strategies.

Awards and Honors

"'Hips Feel Good' - Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty", was a Top Marketing Case Study at Ivey Publishing in 2009.

The case, "Brand in the Hand: Mobile Marketing at Adidas", was a Top 10 Best Seller at Ivey Publishing in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

The case, "The Wii: Nintendo's Video Game Revolution," was a winning case at the Concordia Case Writing Competition, January 2008, and one of the top marketing cases at Ivey Publishing in 2009.

Nominated for the Excellence in Social Justice Award (2009)

National Science Foundation Grant, Commercialization of Innovation Within the Multinational Enterprise: A Focus on Process, 2004.

The case, "Robert Mondavi Wines: Caliterra" was a top 40 best-seller (out of more than 7,500 cases and Harvard Business Review articles) at Harvard Business School Publishing in 2001

Industry and Academic Experience

David Wesley joined Northeastern University's College of Business in 1999 from the Richard Ivey School of Business where he was Latin America Program Director. There he wrote case studies on several well-known corporations, including Mondavi Wines, British Airways, 3M, and the Bank of Nova Scotia. Mr. Wesley's case studies have appeared in more than 25 textbooks. He has helped several US and European universities develop their business research capabilities and he has provided advice on the creation of two successful Executive MBA programs. He is a founding member of the Institute for Global Innovation Management and is one of four faculty and staff members at the Northeastern University to be awarded the first National Science Foundation grant in the College of Business Administration's history.
